Class time: This week in class we talked about the situation with Adrian Peterson and Ray Rice. My view on the Ray Rice situation is a man should never hit a woman under any circumstances. It doesn't make you tough, it makes you a coward. Now the Adrian Peterson situation makes me sick to my stomach. I can not believe somebody could ever hurt a little kid. He should not be back in the NFL We did this activity in class that we had to make a cartoon strip describing the readings we had to read during the week. I thought it was fun we got creative with the drawings. Personal Time: This weekend i visited the 9/11 memorial In NYC for a 100th Anniversary trip for the fire house. It was surreal. seeing how much damage was done in a short period of time and how much precaution the NYPD takes against terrorism now. I saw a cop every half block around the World Trade Center, some of them looked younger than me. I was shocked. The museum was breathtaking. I saw a fire truck with the entire front end burnt and another with no front end at all it go destroyed. They had the bottom of the antenna from the north tower, for how small it looked from the ground this tiny piece was HUGE. Then we went into this room where it said no pictures. When you walk in it has a picture of everybody that parished on the day and a short little story about them. I was speechless when i walked out. They deffinatly thought the museum out, It was really neat with all the artifacts taken from ground zero. After the museum another fire fighter and I walked around and i thought " lets go the Engine 7 Ladder 1", so we walked up a couple blocks saw them coming back from a call so I was like lets see if we can get t-shirts. We walked up i asked and they were nice as could be. They invited us in talked for a few minutes then they asked us if we've seen the 9/11 documentary. I said "of course, actually not too long ago." . They said "one of the guys who filmed it was actually coming for lunch." He was all ready there so my friend and I talked to him for a few minutes than let him go. It was really neat meeting him. They filmed the events on 9/11 in new york by complete accident they were filming a probationary fire fighter becoming a regular fire fighter. After that we walked back towards the towers and then it was 4 o'clock all ready time to get on the bus and head back home. We left Manhattan at 4 and at 6 we were still in Manhattan haha. Traffic was backed up so bad we moved about two blocks from 6 to about 7. it was rough. we finally go to the Holland Tunnel at about 8 and it was a straight shot home. we arrived home at about 9:45 10:00. not a bad ride besides the traffic in Yew York. |
